Menstrual Equity Consciousness Raising

April 9 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

It’s time to put pedal to the metal! It’s been over five months since the Senate unanimously passed the I AM Bill for the second legislative session and the House has yet to bring the bill to a vote. Last month over 100 menstruators stormed the State House to talk with legislators at our Advocacy Day but still, no signs of the House bringing up the I AM Bill for a vote. Why?

We know we have the support if brought to a vote, but some legislators are weary of adding ‘new costs’ to the budgetHowever:

  • Menstrual products are not just a ‘new cost’ but a long term cost saving measure.
  • Menstrual products are not optional – and need to be considered an essential goods.
  • Menstrual products are not a ‘new cost’ but a cost menstruators pay monthly.

What can we do to urge our State Representatives to talk to House leadership about bringing the I AM bill to a vote?

RSVP for the Consciousness Raising!

Write your State Representative to ask them to champion the I AM Bill!
