Testimony Writing Workshop
May 18 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Join Mass NOW and Beacon Bloc for a workshop on how to turn your truth into testimony! No experience is necessary for this interactive workshop where State House staffers will walk you through an overview of how a bill becomes a law, and how we can turn our lived experience into impactful testimony and advance our feminist agenda.
This legislative session Mass NOW and the MA Menstrual Equity Coalition have reintroduce H.2354/S.1445, An Act to Increase Access to Menstrual Products in Prisons, Homeless Shelters and Public Schools. If passed, the I AM bill would ensure access to free menstrual products, without stigma, to all menstruating individuals in all public schools, homeless shelters, prisons and county jails. By ending period poverty we’re tackling economic inequality, educational inequality & health inequality across Massachusetts.
Have you ever miss class because you didn’t have access to a menstrual product? Have you ever had to choose between paying for food or a menstrual product? Turn your story into testimony!
The I AM bill has been assigned to the Joint Committee on Public Health and could have a hearing anytime! Join us to get your testimony ready.
