Our Legislative Task Force Committee
There are many ways you can help Mass. NOW pass our legislative priorities and ensure equality for women and girls across the Commonwealth.
The Legislative Task Force Committee (LTFC) supports and directs Mass. NOW’s comprehensive, statewide legislative and policy agenda. Mass. NOW is the only multi-issue, multi-strategy organization in the Commonwealth that works to advance the full range of issues pertaining women and girls.
Mass. NOW has six priority issue areas that direct and inform our policy work:
- Reproductive Rights and Health
- LGBTQ Equality
- Civil and Constitutional Rights
- Economic Equality and Labor Rights
- Violence Against Women
- Racial Justice
LTFC Responsibilities
LTFC members support the work of Mass. NOW’s State Director. This includes:
- Attending 2-3 meetings a year
- Working with the Board of Directors and Mass. NOW members to identify priority issues areas
- Responding to emails concerning legislative priorities in a timely fashion
- Assisting in writing and reviewing testimony, legislative action alerts, and press materials
- Assisting in fundraising for the LTFC
- Making calls to legislators regarding our priority legislation
- Endorsing and setting Mass. NOW’s legislative agenda and priorities, as recommended by the Lobbyist and LTFC Chair
