Helena Berbano is a second generation Filipina American, Florida native, and voting rights advocate. She holds a degree in Political Science from Merrimack College. During her tenure at Merrimack, she was involved in campus leadership, and interned for the Caucus of Women Legislators, Gov. Deval Patrick, and Congresswoman Niki Tsongas. She also holds a Master of Public Administration from UMASS Boston, where she was given the distinctions of McCormack Scholar, Keough Capstone Fellow, and Best Capstone for her research focused on women of color public office initiatives.

Currently, Helena is the Director of Special Projects at Nonprofit VOTE, where she works with nonprofit partners across the U.S. on their voter engagement activities. Apart from her work at Nonprofit VOTE, she is dedicated to volunteering on political campaigns and supporting initiatives dedicated to social justice. She co-directs Asian American Millennials Unite, is a board member for YNPN Boston and ASPIRE, and she is a 2017 New Leaders Council Fellow.
