Jill Ashton joined the board of Mass NOW in 2006 and has served as co-president since the beginning of 2010. She is the director of the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women, an independent state agency that is tasked with reporting on the status of women in the Commonwealth and making recommendations regarding policy that would facilitate their advancement. Ms. Ashton is a graduate of the Program for Women in Politics and Public Policy at UMass Boston and received her undergraduate degree from William Smith College.  In addition, she serves on the board of the Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy.
