3rd Annual Menstrual Equity Summit
We were joined by a hundred menstrual equity activists at Suffolk University for the 2025 Menstrual Equity Summit, hosted in partnership with Our Bodies Ourselves Today. We were beyond thrilled to see so many of you in-person, spending your Saturday talking about periods! 🩸
We kicked off the day with an inspiring resource fair featuring over a dozen organizations showcasing public health initiatives, sex ed resources, student activations, and more. The momentum continued with Dr. Sally King’s powerful keynote, which unpacked the intersections of pronatalism and menstruation, revealing how these narratives shape our culture, policies, and movement for menstrual equity.
Our panel, Bloodlines: Reclaiming Our Narratives around Menstruation, Perimenopause, and Menopause, moderated by State Representative Marjorie Decker, brought together leaders including L Austin-Spooner, Dr. Christine Sieberg, and Dr. Lucy Lomas. Together, they explored critical themes ranging from stigma and barriers to care to the power of collective action, reclaiming our stories, and building empowered agency in clinical settings.
In the afternoon, Mass NOW’s Executive Director Sasha Goodfriend presented an overview of our 194th legislative session agenda. Following the presentation, artivist Burcu Koeli to lead an interactive workshop on crafting personal stories to advance menstrual equity.
We ended the day with our board elections, and we’re excited for the vision and energy our reelected members will bring.
Don’t let your activism stop at the Summit, take action today to write your State Representatives and urge them to bring our menstrual equity agenda to a vote in the House Ways and Means Committee!
We hope to see you at the MME Coalition's next event: the 2026 Menstrual Equity Advocacy Day at the State House, February 26th.
