Nominate a Feminist in Action Awardee

Each year Mass NOW recognizes the work of one phenomenal feminist in our community at our annual event, the Feminist Affair. Mass NOW celebrates the work of individuals whose work reflects our values and mission of pursuing equity, acting for justice and building intersectional feminism in the Commonwealth. 

The recipient of this Award is a remarkable leader for change and past recipients include Kate Sanetra-Butler, Founder and Executive Director of Dignity Matters, Chastity Bowick, founding director of the Transgender Emergency Fund, Bria Gadson, Founding Director of Love Your Menses, former State Senator Linda Dorcena Forry, Stacey Borden, founding director of New Beginnings Re-entry Services, Christina Pascucci Ciampa, owner of All She Wrote Book and Nurys Carmago, Massachusetts Cannabis Commission Commissioner.

Nominees for the Feminist Affair Award must meet criteria set forth by the Mass NOW Awards Committee. The Committee welcomes nominees from every race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, age, ability, family status, and socioeconomic status in our effort to recognize the accomplishments from our intersectional and intergenerational Mass NOW community. 

Nominees must demonstrate commitment to community advancement and the advancement of historically underrepresented groups on issues such as:

  • Racial Justice

  • Reproductive Justice

  • LGBTQIA+ Equality

  • Economic Empowerment

  • Civic and Constitutional Rights

  • Gender Based Violence
