Action Alert: Urge your State Rep to bring the I AM Bill to a vote!

It’s time to put pedal to the metal for the I AM Bill. It’s been five months since the Senate unanimously passed the I AM Bill for the second legislative session and the House has yet to bring the bill to a vote. We know we have the support if brought to a vote, but some legislators are weary of adding ‘new costs’ to the budget.

But we know menstrual products are not just a ‘new cost’ but a long term cost saving measure. We know menstrual products are not optional – and need to be considered an essential goods. We know menstrual products are not a ‘new cost’ but a cost menstruators pay monthly. What can we do to urge our State Representatives to talk to House leadership about bringing the I AM bill to a vote?

Join the Massachusetts Menstrual Equity Coalition for a Consciousness Raising on April 9th at 6pm at the Boston Public Library!

Thanks to a donation from Aunt Flow, we’ll be assembling period product to-go bags for our partners at the Center to Support Immigrant Organizing working with people living in period poverty, followed by a panel discussion with leaders in menstrual equity work in Massachusetts.
